Department of Plastic Surgery

The Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery serves as a tertiary referral centre for patients from the Armed Forces and their dependants as well as ex-servicemen all across India south of the Vindhyachals and southern Rajasthan.  In addition, it provides all services to the civilian patients from the state of Maharashtra. The department collaborates with other specialties like Oncology, Orthopedics, Vascular Surgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery, and Neurosurgery with the aim of optimal functional and aesthetic  restoration. The Outpatient Department sees a regular attendance of Hand deformities, Brachial plexus injuries, Facial clefts and Deformities and Post Burn deformities and Aesthetic Surgery patients.  The department is one of the oldest departments recognized  by the MCI to run MCh (Plastic Surgery) Training Program, since 1973, and is currently admitting three students per year under the MUHS. The MCh training is structured and tuned to produce well rounded and skilled Plastic Surgeons
